The Introduction of Youth Orchestra, CYCNY

The Youth Orchestra, CYCNY was co-founded in 1995 by former President Lin-Chi Chu in the Friends of China Youth Corps, New York Chapter. The President and former Music Director, Dr. Kane Ho, is also one of the founder. The Youth Orchestra is currently under the direction of Prof. Chao-Liang Chen as well as numerous professional instructors. The 3-year history of the Youth Orchestra has been filled with constant experimentation and fresh challenges. Since September 1997, the Youth Orchestra has joined as part of the Beacon Program in the District 26 in Queens County. In addition to providing young musicians the chance to perform, the Youth Orchestra also serves its performances to local organizations, libraries, and senior citizen clubs. Besides concerts in New York City, the Youth Orchestra also forms national and international concert tours as ambassadors of friendship and culture, including 1997 Taiwan Tour and 1998 San Francisco Tour. In the summer of 1999, the Youth Orchestra will once again present a series of concerts in Taiwan.
