Thank you for attending the annual party of Taiwanese American Association of NY.

I have been a member of TAANY since 1970, and served as the board director in 1996 and 97.
It is a home away from Taiwan for me, my family, and many of you, who are here tonight.

I feel very honored to be the next president of TAANY.  After President Lin
Shiu Ho’s tremendous accomplishments, it’s going to be a tough act to follow.
The board directors and I would need your whole heart support. Please let us know
what we can do for you.

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Taiwan’s 228 Incident. While we are lucky
enough to live under the democracy of the US and Taiwan, we remember and pray tens of
thousands of Taiwanese, mostly the elite, who were slaughtered, killed and massacred
exactly one month from today on February 28 in 1947.

Many activities commemorating the 228 Massacre will take place in New York City
and around East Coast, Including, the 228 Concert” on February 10 and “228 Memorial
Evening” on February 23 both will be presented at Taiwan Center in Flushing.

Taiwanese American of East Coast will gather on February 24 at The Independent Hall
of Philadelphia for the kick-off ceremony of “March for Taiwan”. The journey will be
a 5-day and 4-night walking and jogging for Taiwan from Philadelphia’s Independent Hall
to Capitol Hill of Washington, DC. And in DC, there are Exhibition, Symposium and
Rally as well.

If you would like to join, or to support, please contact us as soon as possible!!

Thank you very much and enjoy the evening!
