The Metropolitan Brass Quintet is proud to announce its 2004 annual concert in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Saturday evening, April 17th, at 8:30 p.m. entitled "Brass on Fire". As part of its Weill Recital Hall Concert Series, the group will perform a rousing program of brass music. Featured works include J.s. Bach's "Fugue in G Minor", award winning composer Eric Ewazen's "Frost Fire", David Sampson's "Morning Music", Kerry Turner's "Ricochet", Witold Lutoslawski's "Mini Overture", and Astor Piazzolla's "Obilion #2". This annual event is not to be missed! Hailed by Michael Powell of the Juilliard School as "one of today's finest young brass ensembles. All five members play with an unbeatable blend of virtuosity, passion and enthusiasm," the Metropolitan Brass Quintet is rapidly establishing an international reputation as an important chamber group. Founded in 2000, the group has dedicated itself to represent the unparalleled quality and excitement of brass music. Perform a wide variety of styles in classical, contemporary, and pops, all five members of the group have devoted a large amounts of time and energy to achieve a wide dynamic range that fills their music with life. The concert is sponsored by Dillion Music, one of the largest brass dealers in the New York Metropolitan Area. Admissions are $20 for general audience and $16 for seniors and students.
